World Bicycle Day

World Bicycle Day is observed annually on June 3rd. It was designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 to promote the use of bicycles as a sustainable and environmentally friendly mode of transportation.

World Bicycle Day aims to raise awareness about the benefits of cycling for individuals and communities, including promoting physical fitness, reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality, and fostering sustainable development. The day also highlights the social and economic advantages of cycling, such as access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities.

On World Bicycle Day, various activities and events take place worldwide to encourage people to ride bicycles. These may include group rides, cycling parades, bicycle-themed competitions, workshops on bike maintenance and safety, awareness campaigns, and the launch of cycling infrastructure projects.

It's worth noting that the specific activities and events held on World Bicycle Day may vary from year to year and across different regions, as local organizations and communities often organize their own initiatives to celebrate the day and promote cycling.
